What is the expected compensation for a senior software engineer role, with 6 years experience and a masters degree? I would appreciate inputs from tesla employees.
Contracting to multiple companies
Depends on experience and background. 5 years at Apple and no degree trumps a Harvard MBA
Can you provide any range? Expected stock and base?
Masters degree is at least $5869 more
Depends if ur a good engineer who can code or not. Those complaining they're underpaid are shit engineers. The new ones coming in that are good have no bounds.
blind at its best - everybody assumed OP is a code monkey because he's at intel and 0 people actually provided the requested info can somebody actually post tesla comp?
no. it would depress us.
It'll depend greatly on the role (and the group): a senior machine learning software engineer would get *a lot* more than a lambda software engineer. Years of experience don't mean much for your market value.
I don't think Tesla is a good paymaster. I had an offer from them earlier.
5 years of exp in mgmt. consulting, top 10 MBA, $140k
that's less
I'm a Test Engineer with only a 2 year degree. At Intel, I made $84k in DuPont, WA. Same title at MS in Redmond paid me $104k (but I managed technicians). Now at Tesla, I'm making $102k.
why take a cut from WA to CA ?
I left Intel because the campus was closing. I joined MS simply for the pay. but after 2 years I grew tired of managing people. The hardware side is a mess at MS, especially the Reliability group I worked in. I'm doing work at Tesla that I feel matters (I work on the renewable energy side) and I'm back doing work I enjoy (coding, building, testing, real hands on).
6 years from intel or from a good company?
No need to be a jerk
No, but this will matter quite a lot.
