Hello, I did complete panel interviews and a call with director last week for hardware position, expecting an offer soon. I would like to know have community inputs for negotiations. My current tc: east coast $245k Tesla : I believe it’s P4 level. Update: P4 is confirmed and initial verbal offer from the recruiter: base-$180k, RSU-$350k/4 yrs Thanks!
Days of crazy stock gains for TSLA are over. Make sure the offer is good even if stock is flat for the next 3-4 years.
Thanks for the reply. I don’t see many data points on level.fyi. This is the reason why I asked here. What would be the decent-good salary based on the Bay Area
I’m also not sure. Looking at levels the recent TC is much lower. So I think earlier datapoints benefited by the astronomical stock gains, and recent hires have either suffered with losses or have had flat stock prices. Please report back when you get numbers:)
You probably got laid off already. 😝
As per the recruiter before starting panel interview and post recent layoff news, he said that this position has already discussed with VP -Elon and no freeze for it since it’s directly related production.
Lol, I worked with Elon before. That means nothing. Man's decisions change on a whim.
I was verbally offered 185k base + 700k RSU over 4 yrs on a P5 level before June 3 fiasco. I asked for 225k base instead. Things are frozen for now but recruiter said the offer will be extended as soon as freeze is over. I now don't want to take the risk but will wait to see which way it goes.
Both base and TC can be negotiated again. But given Elon will review the offer, this is not possible now. The hiring is a mess now, not sure when it is over.
I updated with latest information on the level and verbal initial offer but recruiter said he is going to discuss with manager to come up with numbers
WTF? Tesla recruiter reached out, but this Staff offer is lower than my current TC as L4. What???
What’s your TC?
Tesla comp is so bad, forget peanuts you’ll be paid peanut husks.
