The era Of FAANG is over…

These are no longer the best paying, best perks, exciting companies (except maybe N on pay). Knowing a lot of people in the industry (I got 15+ YOE) who work at these companies (and love working for them) and doing some basic research, I’d say the new tier of great pay, great perks, and existing companies are: - Databricks - Snowflake - Confluent - Datadog - Cruise - Coinbase (2 people I know actually really like it there, maybe because they are staff and Sr. Staff an make $$$) - AirBnB - Discord - Square - Plaid - OpenAI (duh) ————— For people talking about stock appreciation, First most these companies vest on quarter basis, nothing stops you from selling those and investing in other companies Second, the public companies above companies tend to move with the rest of the market Here is FAANG stock YTD vs the publicly traded above F-> 150% Amazon-> 55% Apple-> 55% Google -> 38 Vs Snowflake -> 38% Confluent -> 77% Datadog -> 58% coinbase -> 210% Airbnb-> 73% Square/block-> 22%

But will Coinbase do a Binance is the real question?

Amazon JeffreyBzs Jul 18, 2023

What did binance do?

Workday 👹yummy Jul 18, 2023

Discord pays peanut and their equity is worthless

Microsoft vampire🧛 OP Jul 18, 2023

I bet someone buys them one day and mints a slew of brand new millionaires

LinkedIn 🦆🦆 go Jul 18, 2023

Huh? I doubt this because a) levels.fyi and b) the people who work there come from companies that pay relatively well. Whether their equity is worthless is up for debate, but they must have a very large number of DAUs like 100M+, possibly much more.

Google JimKer Jul 18, 2023

Lol at a lot of the companies in this list being higher tier…

Deliveroo vGGv52 Jul 18, 2023

Why do you care to even comment?

Optiver needalpha Jul 18, 2023

Because he's right there isn't a single HFT on that list

Amazon Mr Sparkle Jul 18, 2023

Half the companies you listed is Monopoly money comp. I’ll take actual liquid equity at a FAANG over most of those.

Microsoft vampire🧛 OP Jul 18, 2023

False 7 out of the 11 are public companies

I’m sorry do disappoint you about your choices

Coinbase bHgdf Jul 18, 2023

Coinbase pays high for a reason: it's extremely dysfunctional, they have a hard time attaching and retaining good talents because once you are in you realize how it has taken the bad aspects of startups (long hours, no planning, hack everything) and the bad aspects of big companies (politics, bureaucracy, empire building...). This is basically a career dead end, and to find people that are willing to stay, they pay pretty well

Datadog Larkin22 Jul 18, 2023

Datadog can compete with FAANG these days. We down-level hard though.

Meta headwindz Jul 22, 2023

I keep getting rejected by datadog, confirmed they are higher prestige than Meta
