I used to think my comp is mediocre, but now I'm very happy to have it and doubt I would be able to find a job to match it even if I spent a year prepping for interviews. The problem though is that I can't stand my work anymore. The only option I may have is finding a job that is 2/3rd of my current pay. I'd still need to grind interviews and prep to have any chance of that. I would consider it just to get out my current job and gain new experience. But then, I'd have to climb back up the income ladder, likely needing to hop jobs again, to get the best of both worlds (good work and make old level of pay). It's kind of sad, that I would quit Microsoft and take reduced pay in order to do real work instead of B.S. work.
Anyone who can't find meaningful work at Microsoft is pretty lazy and will likely fail anyway.
Are you me?? Currently looking at internal transfers but it feels so pointless preparing for a whole LC loop just for that
I agree. It doesn’t make sense to prepare for full LC loop and stay at same level and salary. Would rather switch for higher comp at a different company. Microsoft needs to change their internal transfers policy
Msft internal transfer requires LC round? Lol ok hard pass
Lvl ?
Why don’t you like your current work at MS?
You don’t need 280 to be happy. You need a job that doesn’t suck your soul to be happy.
Same. Making about $200k TC in this dumpster fire of a zombie start-up. In a not as all technical role.
At Nuro?
Yes
Why not start a business? The more that austerity measures plague the tech industry, the more appealing that starting a business becomes.
How do you start a business without capital, or at least a couple years of living expenses to cover you while you're starting out?
Imagine making a post about TC and not posting TC
