There seems to be a bit of a bias on Blind towards consumer tech. I don’t know why, I suppose you’re a little more “famous” to non-techies if you can say you’re working on a consumer product they know. This is very prevalent on the Google lounge, where many Google engineers look disparagingly at Google cloud. But... If you want to make money and reduce the risk of your chosen company being the victim of regulatory or political scrutiny, especially in 2020, pick successful enterprise software companies. Ie Splunk, Okta, Stripe, Snowflake..it may not be as sexy tech, but the enterprise software gravy train has a long way to go selling controversy-free products to Fortune 500 companies with deep, deep pockets. Be smart and think strategically about the company you choose to hitch your personal fortune to. “The social dilemma” plus the whole tiktok saga are signs of how governments around the world are viewing B2C tech markets with ad revenue as the business model. It’s not looking good here, we just need one more dodgy election and the US government will come down hard on these consumer tech giants. TC: 400k (Country: AU) YOE: 15 L6 in Google Cloud

Holy shit! How do you get 400K in AU? Does it include the stock appreciation? I’d take this over 600K USD in shithole SF Btw, well said about the B2C product, data privacy is the regulation priority in the foreseeable future
