I guess Im not the only one that has many ideas to build an app... and start dreaming about a possible company... But I guess all of us we dont own one... otherwise we wouldnt be here... What Im looking for? Common sense comments on why should I or should I not pursue that dream. I'm 35 right now and every second that passes is getting later and later. #
Build an app if you want to. I’ve built several. I enjoyed the experience but none have been lucrative enough to live off of. I usually make $500-$1000 at best in the first year then it tapers off.
Nice good on you for taking initiative. What kind of apps did you build?
Forget the ideas. You have a lot of industry experience if you’re 35. What client problems do you see worth solving? Building some form of tech around? Would they pay for it? Get out there and talk to your customers. Having an idea is nothing if you can’t pull your weight to work on the customer development.
Make sure the contract you've signed with your employer doesn't give them ownership of your work. Other than that, there's no reason you shouldn't pursue your dream. Have a level headed approach to it though, don't do anything crazy just because it's your dream.
I tried that. It’s harder than I thought. The coding part is the easiest. But marketing is much much harder than I thought. My suggestion to you is try it
I've never built something from scratch. Wondering if I can dm to get your thoughts?
Sure
