The way Musk is running Twitter

Is an attack on the work culture of the tech industry. If we quickly review what he's done - 0. In May - Belittles the tech & SWEs by saying, that Twitter will be super focused on "hardcore software engineering". He has yet to enlighten us, about this "hardcore software engineering". In Nov, after he's bought Twitter - 1. No official communication with employees before laying off. Also apparently, Tesla & Spacex engineers were making the list of who stays and who goes. 2. Publicly mocking Twitter's existing processes, like manager training etc 3. Makes people do stupid things like printing out the code. 4. Brings in external engineers to review the code, to make Twitter employees feel like who's calling the shots 5. Indirectly mandates working over weekend, by setting unrealistic Monday deadline on a Saturday. 6. Sets last minute deadlines like, full RTO effective immediately. (possibly violating some employee contracts). And a minimum of 40hr work week, pushing for toxic WLB. 7. Allegedly, he's made comments like "Need to take time to completely rewrite the software stack" in a meeting with advertisers. And the list goes on.. he's also taken opportunity to claim credit for some of the dev-complete features of Twitter that were going to be released soon. Used to like the app. But i really hope the app sinks. TC: 20L, India YOE: 3.5

Yeah, Twitter is going to sink fast at this rate

My worry is that other CEOs will look at Musk and think our company should do this

Sopra Banking Dog-bert Nov 11, 2022

Yeah, they might try it, but overall market forces will correct it, when all good engineers start leaving

But i think he’s making things more efficient at the cost of hurting sentiments or feelings, which is a sacrifice, which im sure people around him are willing to make, to make the app the most efficient social media platform

More effecient, my ass. He's doing everything on his whim. Read this https://www.platformer.news/p/inside-the-twitter-meltdown
