I do feel bad to a degree. In USA we have voluntary service, nobody forced them to sign up.
Yes I feel bad for the soldiers. They didn’t make the decision. The crisis was partially caused by Obama’s admin issue to overthrow Libya and Syria. I blame the commander in chief who sent them there and I congratulate the one who’s bringing them back or at lest getting them out of the war zones

Many American lives lost? This is exactly why US allies hate the US. The allies can lose 100x the amount of people than the US, do most of the frontline fighting, and still the US feels like it's made the biggest sacrifice. Has been the case since WWII. By the way, the whole reason they're constantly fighting each other is because the NATO (primarily the US) kept up the artificial and non-sensical borders placed there after de-colonization, just so access to oil is easy and cheap.
