Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
Per topic. I have seen companies provide wide ranges on job ads even when they hire from states that require disclosures. Have heard that some companies may simply not hire from specific states as well. What are your thoughts ?
The issue with pay transparency is that everyone thinks it will drive towards pay equity. This is a problem because people aren’t equally valuable. There’s orders of magnitude of difference between people’s ability to create value, even in the same job role. Like it’s fundamentally just a nonsensical goal. TC 400k 7 YOE. TC or GTFO.
It’s not nonsensical, you can reward high performers with different incentives like bonuses
Which is now just moving the goalposts from “pay equity” to “base pay equity”
Competitive candidates just won’t apply or entertain a phone screen.
