It's nice that the dude kept his soul. Consumer protection isn't great for advertisers, but we fuck em. Good businesses will make money either way.
Why Tom and Tim
Apple CEO
😂 Apple, google, amazon,... Are advertising on tiktok now. Havent seen Meta yet 🤓
He’s not nice, he is just shortsighted and didn’t see the iOS policy would kill his business, in foreseeable future
Everyone talks about how snap has really strong hold of the coveted youth demographic, but how lucrative is monetization of that demographic? It’s not like they have much discretionary income, since they rely on their parents. And as those kids get older, it’ll be interesting to see if they move off of snap and into more established platforms like IG, or if they’ll turn snap into their generation’s version of fb and continue to age there.
Totally, this makes no sense. Their target audience is broke. Their product has massive server costs per user. Instagram had enough trouble with just images, and their audience could feasibly include people with expensive cameras or traveled a lot. The share is adults that fuck around making videos all day isn't large. Maybe we'll stop making new companies that will never make money. This is idiotic.
This really demonstrates how fucking clueless Evan is. He’s sitting there like a clown not knowing Apple was killing his company.
Didn't you read the article? He knew it was bad for his company but he respects consumer protection. People don't have to pretend to be blind to privacy issues when they become dependent on advertising revenue. "We generally view this as a good thing overall for consumers, even if it’s a little disruptive for advertisers in the near term."
"We generally view this as a good thing overall for consumers, even if it’s a little disruptive for advertisers in the near term." .. does he sound like he knows what was about to happen?

What is the biggest reason for Snap’s downfall? The iOS changes or people moving to TikTok?
I think Apple is the biggest reason, followed by TikTok. Their DAUs are still increasing but yes, I do think that people are probably spending less time on Snapchat than before and also that advertisers are simply moving their Snapchat advertising budget over to TikTok.
