What happens when most of your team is Indian?
I was in a loop with Thumbtack in early 2022 when they went into a hiring freeze right before my onsite. They recently reached back out regarding a Staff level position they’re trying to fill. Little leery with what’s happened over the past year and a half. How are people feeling about the company lately?
Like others have said, at this point it is relatively stable and it's a good culture overall and for eng specifically. Equity valuation is not something I would really count on in terms of upside, mostly just because our competitors stock is in the shitter for the most part and while we are growing much faster than them it's not rocket -ship growth and most likely never will be at this point. The TAM in this space is huge but it's just fundamentally hard to achieve scaled growth across all the different service verticals at once, which is why nobody has broken out in this space yet, and many FAANG companies have retreated or scaled back ambitions.
How likely do you think it is to break even on rsus
What do you mean break even - IPO at the same valuation that your RSUs were valued at? If so makes a big difference when you joined. If you joined before the 2021 raise then you have a lot more upside than those who joined at the height of the valuation. Personally I think a decent outcome would be anything over $1B if we were to IPO soon, so closer to the 2019 valuation than the 2021 one. ANGI market cap is under $1B now and they're a much bigger company than us revenue wise. To get a high multiple we'll need to show strong revenue growth as well as profitability.
From business perspective we have been doing well this year despite economic downturns But i wouldnt say it feels like a rocketship, just a moderately successful app that is continuing to grow in a weird sector I like it, its one of the highest paying remote companies and has a pretty solid tech stack My team is also chill
Good to know I appreciate the feedback. I’m not looking for anything that’s going to take off at this point I’d just love some stability after the past couple years.
Is the valuation at 3B justified? What is the FMV of share price?
