For the rest of the world and Chinese people outside China probably know about what happened. What do Chinese people who know about this massacre think about this ?
Those protesters only had words, no concrete action plan
It is a very complicated topic and should not be simplified to multiple choices. Government did what they did, it is horrible but necessary in their opinion. Do I think China would be a better country if they didn't do what they did? Probably not. Do I think China would be a better country if students could be more moderate and patient with pace of social political reform? I think so. But students are 100% right and heroic at what they did. And they will always be remembered (excluding many leaders who care less about the lives of fellow students but their own agenda) It is unfortunate, from both sides. It is tragic for Chinese no matter which side you are at. That's why many Chinese take offend when this is used against China as a country.
China would absolutely be better if they had not cracked down. We would have had less focus on state owned enterprise and more private growth, which is where all the wealth came from. Also less corruption, and more open markets. On top of that Taiwan would probably be unified with China by now. The Taiwanese love democracy and the main thing keeping them away from China is the Communist dictatorship. It was a huge setback and under Xi the Communists are going back to their old ways.
^ If they had not been cracked down, China would have been no better than Iraq now. What Xi is doing is completely another story. I donβt like it either. But it doesnβt mean the leaders at 90s did wrong. It has already been the best outcome possible.
What a joke. It's unfortunate for both sides? Chinese govt massacared 10k students who were protesting.
Looks like the Chinese govt did a good job of brainwashing their citizens
Chinese who support brutal PRC gov should be kicked out of the free world.
I was in grad school during TS era. Some of my colleagues in my research group knew people involved in the protests. It was bloody.
Almost retired?
I'm 50, not dead!
6.3% subhuman.
Non-Chinese people with such strong opinion on Chinaβs destiny is very American attitude.
People always tend to believe they are the ones who knows the truth. You know what media told you, both in and outside China.
