I have an upcoming final interview with Tiktok, and the recruiter said it would be a "frontend knowledge" interview specifically about "writing code to draw components in the UI". However, my interview invitation contains a Hackerrank link which only has a "Javascript (Node.js)" environment setup. I tried to clarify if I should personally set up a ReactJS dev environment for this interview, but I was told these interviews have always been completed through Hackerrank. Does anybody know what I can expect? I don't see how I can write UI components in Node. #tiktok #bytedance #frontend #engineering #swe
For my interview (specifically in final round), there was be coding stuff related to closures and promises. I remember the interviewer also asked me a bit about node js APIs. But it seemed like he didn't care much about those APIs in terms of writing out the code. When it comes to UI components in node, they can ask to imitate some react API but instead of rendering it out they can just ask to print the result in console(but I feel that highly unlikely)
What’s do the questions end up looking like?
OP - Did you go through next set of rounds? Did anyone recently go through FE interviews? Mind shedding some light?
It might be a vanilla JS round without any framework
makes sense but the specific emphasis on drawing UI components in Node is throwing me off
It’s vanilla JS. They won’t ask you to run it and view on the page. they’re only interested in the code. Good thing hackerrank has js auto complete.
