Person of the year doesn’t equal the most beloved person.
Well deserved.
World war 2 started in September, 1939 however this is 1938 edition. Untill WW2 started, Hitler was seen as someone helping Germany come out of the WW1 loss.
Yes, when he annexed Austria and Czech areas, invalidated Jews passports to be able to leave the country, and Kristallnacht occurred (all in 1938), Hitler was merely helping Germany out of WWI loss.
I’m with you, but guess attacking two countries was not a big deal in those days, specially if it’s not against the allied forces. Winston Churchill got the award when he was responsible for Bengal Famine which caused few million deaths.
The video at the top here says Osama Bin laden was considered in 2001. Head of Isis was a runner up https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/hitler-time-magazine-1938/
Dude Osama bin Laden got the award too. This is not supposed to be about people we revere, it’s the person who has changed the world the most that year. Read the logic behind the award before you get your panties in a wad.
Yes, who says the person of the year is necessarily a compliment/praise? Find Putin, Bill Clinton, Ken Starr, Giuliani, Obama, Pope John Paul II here in the list from the past 25 years. https://www.cbsnews.com/pictures/list-time-person-of-the-year-list-25-years-trump-putin-obama-clinton-zuckerberg/17/ Smh
That’s my point....
It has never been a compliment/praise - just most influential person (good or bad)
Wait until you read the NYT Op-Ed by Hitler called “The Art of Propaganda” from June 1941.
I hear it's Greta this year is, their track record is amazing!
I know that she gave talk and goes on tv as an activist, but what has she actually done or changed?
Exactly, the leftists have special affinity for Hitler. That’s obvious
Is this real?
Yes
Yes. Apparently they give out the title based on impact, but not necessarily good impact.
