Any interview tips for a PM role at Lyft?#productmanager #interviewquestions
Lyft might pay well but that ain’t gonna mean dick if you get laid off. They’re a company that is in dire straits. I wouldn’t touch them with a 12 ft pole.
Happy to help you prep for interviews but Lyft may not be the wisest choice atm
Frmr PM there (laid off) and did 20-30 interviews while I was there. It's very textbook. Cases (eg Lyft for Mass Transit), ask questions to show you're validating your approach, outline a structure first, do plenty of problem discovery before solutioning, etc. It's all BS if you get hired. Just build the slides your boss tells you, even if literally no one can explain the customer value or point to any evidence beyond "Uber's doing it!"
I didn't get the job, nor a reason why. I'll keep applying to other places and see where Q1 2023 takes me. Thanks for the feedback and welcome any tips for PM interviews or opportunities elsewhere. I feel bad about people working at Lyft when reading these comments. Why doesn't Uber or Bolt just buy them out and end the misery?

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Yeah, interview somewhere else that isn’t slowly going out of business. Seriously though think through market dynamics and estimating populations / effects. More than most companies, Lyft is deep in economics to make their product work. Everything is about market efficiency.
