Stop it. Just stop it. I've seen a flurry of LinkedIn posts talking about how excited everyone is to RTO. Let me give you the reality of someone who spent the majority of the last two years in the office. Almost all of my meetings were done virtually. So what does that mean? I would do a 40 minute commute to fight with other office drones for space in the huddle rooms to do virtual meetings. Now I'm not against in person meetings, as a matter of fact I prefer them, but that's not what you'll be doing. From now on there will always be someone in the meeting working remotely. So no matter how many people are in the conference room, you'll still have people dialing in remotely. So to all my hybrid and in office friends, enjoy your new life of fighting for huddle and conference rooms to do your virtual meetings. Let's just not pretend that we enjoy it. TC: $220
Why would you spend the majority of last two years in the office?
Was working at a F500 you've never heard of. Fully remote now.
and even before pandemic, we had hybrid meetings, there was someone dialing in almost all the time, it’s just a step back in the past, what’s new lol
Some people actually enjoy going to the office
Offices are amazing. You can walk away from people and only talk to people you want to interact with… in your own home… your kinda stuck. Unless you wanna get into a fight or whatever… tons of drama. Gimme office. Although I’m gonna miss having a private toilet
“Only talk to people you want to interact with”? Doesn’t sound like any office I’ve ever worked in. “Get into a fight or whatever” from WFH? Also not a thing I’ve experienced. That is something I’d try to fix regardless of WFH/RTO I totally agree with you on the private toilet though. Also love the leisurely 2nd cup of coffee while replying to emails and reading Blind. And the fact that I sometimes go over a month without driving my car.
Ahhh mr Cofefe to live alone… that must be amazing! Big company = big office = lots of places to get away from people. Shit I’ve got buildings and floors that are pretty empty
Started going into the office. I had forgotten what a fucking waste of time it is. Commuting to a building and then commuting back just to find available rooms to sit in virtual meetings. It's so stupid lol The one saving grace is that it's making me look forward to my WFH days even more.

Why is our country owned by Israel? I don't want my tax dollars fund genocide. How can we stop this nonsense?
Exactly. Wfh 5 days a week was awful for me. Coming in now 2-3x a week as been amazing for my social skills and mental health. I already have a ton of friends for after work and weekends but thats nothing tbh. 8 hours staring at a screen just isn't natural.
I truly hope it works out that way. Just speaking from the experience of someone who has spent a ridiculous amount of "in person" meetings staring at a screen.
