I joined Meta 1 month back. But now Google finally got back to me to say that I've cleared the HC and asked if I'd like to move to team matching. Since I joined Meta only recently, my TC has not taken a huge hit, however the attrition and overall morale here is a little concerning. On the plus side the team that I got matched with here is great it's something that I'm quite interested in. What do you think is the best course of action. Thinking about again going through team matching, having to return bonus, doing visa paperwork, possibly burning bridges etc are some of the things I'm considering. TC: 280k after stock drop Edit: Thanks all for the overwhelming response. I've decided to wait a few months to start the team matching process. This should also give me some time to get a feel of the land.
That's fine. Once you have Google on your CV you can turn back time and rehabilitate any bridge burned. I would personally go for Google
hard decision follow your gut, I would probably just go to Google.
Google is shitting the bed also
Not as bad as Meta I guess
Or so it seems. News orgs take every opportunity to take a dump on Meta.
I’ve read stories in blind where Google matching took months and months. You could have lots of time to explore while still delivering at Meta.
Team matching can take months. Let the process start. See if you get a team you really like. If not, keep working at meta
It can take months, but it doesn't have to. My process took 2 weeks. I think months of team matching is the exception not the rule
Mine took 3 weeks and I did that before interviewing. but most of my friends took months. Especially right now, TM is taking a long time.
Imo, meta has much more potential for long term growth than meta… especially since the stock is super low Edit: I meant than Google
Having a good team fit is underrated - what are the chances you get matched with a team that you’re also interested in. I would stay.
I joined a team and the match was not goodfor the first time ever, I don't look forward to my work or aspire to be a high impact person in the team
Just FYI Google team match can take very very very long.
I applied 2 years ago, made it through hiring committee, my recruiter told me he was trying to find a team match and then went cold. I'm sure I'll hear from them any day now saying they've found a match!
How long does it take for HC approval ? I gave interview last month and still no update
It was horrible in my case. it took around 4 months from date of interview to getting approval because of the freeze
Thanks, in my case recruiter said feedback is overall positive but it will take weeks for them to get back to me. I need to probably wait same as yours

Never say no without analysis. See the matched team, type of work , their offer and then compare.
That's true. This would mean I would have to go through the not so fun, possibly months long TM though.
Team matching when you already have a job (Meta) is much better than team matching when you don’t have a job lined up. It will be time consuming but worth a try
