To those who moved from Apple - did you miss Apple ?
Im at the cusp of accepting an offer with amazon. I’ve not even put down my papers and already feel like im going to miss Apple. Funny because I actually got bored with the work at my org which was one of my reasons to consider the new offer. Anyone else miss Apple after they moved ? what did you miss ? culture, benefits, work friends, prestige of working at apple, anything ?
Naah, you wont have enough time in Amazon to miss Apple.

Yes, I miss the *work* at Apple. Our achievements always felt like we were moving the needle. Now I feel like Amazon is just checking boxes amidst chaos. Comp aside, there’s more career upside at Amazon.
So how do you see career upside even though you are just checking boxes ? I can guess that maybe it is from a learning perspective but wld rather prefer if you could elaborate.
carrer upside comes if you have good connection with manager and you can go to L6 or manager level, but it doesn’t happen for most people. Learning wise amazon is good, but again depends on the group. sometimes priority change so quickly that learning doesn’t happen to be deep. Also i feel the culture of group at amazon evolves rapidly, with so many projects/headcounts.
I miss Apple every day. Too bad they don’t pay as much as Google 😞
