Looking for Director level roles and recruiters are giving following numbers. Is this the ceiling in healthcare for such roles (Director for tech/IT, Bay/NYC/Chicago/Boston)? BMS - 220k base; 25% cash bonus + 25% stock JNJ. - 210k base; 25% + 30% stock Which ones pay the best? Illumina? Pfizer? (going by their numbers on Glassdoor, not sure how stale they are) #healthcare #pharma #tech Current TC : 280
Director level is generally 200-250 base and what you're listing for bonus etc looks pretty standard. Medtech generally pays a bit lower than pharma.
I do hear Takeda is paying a bit higher than average these days btw
Any insight on Illumina? Applied and will be talking to recruiter soon, so any ball park numbers for a Director IT roles would be appreciated.
Lol you should google Illumina. I would not pursue that right now.
yes this is ceiling .. the stocks are useless since they do not grow much....join smaller companies for bigger payoffs from stock...e.g ISRG...any big company comp will suck and will never reach big tech,,,.,.but you will enjoy work life balance, low stress
Boston director level is about 230k base + 20% bonus. In a startup, forget about your stock, it will be worth peanuts. Biotechs crash hard after IPO because they dont make money and investors aren't stupid like in tech. Biotechs are an illusion. Maybe use them for title inflation and jump back into big pharma. Always go for mid/large pharma for TC. You're missing a ton of companies in your list. Boston is crowded with pharma companies man. Takeda pays well, just one example missing from your list.

Director of what? (Tech, clindev, sales, etc) and rough location for geographic adjustment (Bay Area, Boston, etc) In general heat you are listing looks about right for median position of new hire.
