Letās post our YOE through years, TCs, and current TC as a homage to how far weāve come. Iām super grateful for blind as it opened my eyes to the fact that you could make so much money fairly easily by jumping and negotiating constantly. Iād have still stuck around in small companies making peanuts if not for this awesome app. š„ŗ Job 1 fresh out of college mechanical engineer: $60,000 (all cash) Job 2: Mechanical engineer at GE: $85,000 (all cash) Job 3: Manufacturing Design Engineer at Apple: TC 310K (Base: $175K, rest is RSUs, refreshers, and sign-on) Total YOE: 3.5 Letās keep grinding and making that cash baby š
Job 1: $80k Job 2: $120k Job 2.1 (promoted): $135k Job 3: $240k 2.5 YOE
Thatās fabulous! š
Letās not
I can understand, no worries. Have a great weekend :)
Job 1: 95k Fortune 500, all cash, out of college Job 2: 280k at Google, 170k base 2 YOE
Woah thatās insane š
Not all my jobs, just the amounts that were memorable over the years. And yes, I jumped for a variety of reasons, comp not being a consistent one. Job 1 out of college, 2001: 40k all cash 2007: 60k all cash 2008: 80kcash 20k rsu 2011: 125k cash, 2013: 95k cash, 120k equity 2015: 85k cash, 100k rsus 2018: 125k cash, 50k rsus, 80k OT 2021: 128k cash, 50k rsu
Great job!!!
Job 1: 180k Job 2: 320k 2 YOE
Thatās close to double!
Yeah, Iām happy with it š
Wow didn't know hardware pay this well. I thought HWE only get paid š„ according to Blind. Congrats
Thanks a lot, yeah FAANG pays well for hardware engineering
Job 1: $56k Job 1 (promo): $62k Job 2: $102k Job 2.1 (promo): $118k Job 3 $200k 4 YOE
Oh wow nice!!!
How do you negotiate to get 300k+ with under 4 YOE? Itās always recruiter give me an offer, I counteroffer with a list of why I should get more, then final offer. I literally canāt convince my recruiter to give even 5-10k more than original offer. I have to keep interviewing from one place to another 30 times to get what I want at 250k TC.
I had competing offer :)
Is it all FAANG?
Job 1: 50k USD Job 2: 70k USD Amazon Canada: 160k USD Amazon US transfer: 200k USD Amazon US performance raise: 310k USD
If you go from USA -> Canada (due to visa issues) and then -> USA, will you get the previous US offer or is there room for negotiations?
They fucked me totally when I went to US from Canada. It was a long term decision for me when I chose to migrate. Immigrated for the future potential of TC growth in US. The only thing that saved my TC is my performance raise.
How about you just update levels.fyi
This is way more interactive and precise. But I can understand if you donāt want to. Have a great long weekend š
