Total compensation for SDE II/III at Amazon UK (London)

I would like to get some data on the title since it's pretty much non-existent on the Web (even Blind), Glassdoor reports SDE II as 43k - 67k GBP. Is that London base salaries? Recently recruiter asked me how much TC I would need. I replied as 85k - 115k GBP. By my calculations it should be enough for two adult people living in zone 1-2. Example. Not going out for entertainment, sitting in the house all day long, eating self-made food, spending bare minimum on clothes/house maintenance, leaving about $2000/month after all necessary spendings/taxes/rent. Are my calculations somewhat precise or not? TC: $28K YOE: 6

Why would you want to live like that? 28k is where, India?

It's mother effing Russia, mate. 90-95% people here earning like 80% less (you saw it right, about $6k per year). I am good only because I've managed to find a good startup in SF that outsources workforce from around the world.

Why aren't you moving to US?

Waiting to have one year tenure for L1 :-) I'm from not backlogged country so I should get green card in 2-3 years...

I live like 1 hour from office ,Zone 3, and I pay 2000 GBP per month for the apartment (all expenses: gas, electricity, council tax...) which leaves you with around 2500 pounds for everything else. I live with my family. If your wife takes care of the kids you can save some money on childcare. It costs me around 500 pounds per month for kindergarten and breakfast club. And 139 GBP for a monthly card for the tube. If you are alone with girlfriend it is different as you can live closer to the office (you don't have to worry about school for the kids) and no childcare costs. You can save some money but it depends on you :-)

I would say make a budget and see if you are comfortable with the numbers ;-)

I'd say, that isn't much but it's still good in terms of relocation to a better country plus ability to receive permanent residentship after 5 years. Then, you can easily jump to FB, Google or anywhere with that resume entry. Thank you a lot for your help, really appreciate it

L5, 5 yoe, ~100k GBP TC, I'm pretty sure that's top of the band. Confirm first if it is L5 or L6, the difference can be big.
