I'm curious if anyone here has any advice on dealing with toxic or aggressive co-workers. I'm talking about the type that do everything they can to make themselves look good while presumably making sure your work efforts suffer. The reason why I also add poor boundaries is should I even give a shit if I get my own work done and enforce the priority on managing time and expectations On a side note, how do you feel about toxic social cliques at the workplace? (Backstabbing, name calling, obvious cya tactics)
Thanks for your comment. That sounds like the dilemma I'm in. The conundrum of "should I stay and tolerate what's happening in the work place, continue to work towards making my environment better, or look elsewhere and hopefully to fall on greener pastures" It's so crucial to at least respect your coworkers, but if you have a group of people that looks to out you, it gets harder and harder to find happiness at work.

Leave that environment quickly, the PTSD you can feel from a toxic environment will creep into personal life too. Have seem it closely happen to a friend. After moving to better company - his life has overall improved.
Leaving Apple because of this. Some people are great, but main stakeholders are lazy, toxic slackers, that are very negative about everyone.
Turn off or ignore said communication method with them

Thanks, I had a left over credit on Audible and picked it up!
You just confirmed my suspicions. I almost took a Director role there. Hiring process scared me away.
Indeed. Lol

Welp, a lot of large companies are starting to realize that they are having trouble retaining younger workers due to toxic work environments. The department I am is extremely toxic, and my position has high turnover of workers and management. Now it seems like the department is being dismantled to be relocated to a different location with layoff pending to come. In which I fully support, I wanted a career at the company but I no longer do. Too many complacent employees, who barely pull their own weight and try to force younger workers to do all their work.
I too would like to know.
I'd like to hear your thoughts if any
I worked on a toxic environment in a staffing agency. I thought I would just do my work and not bother anyone else. The thing is that I encountered these people everyday and allowed it to happen. I was uncomfortable all the time. I have now found a great company that respects their employees. You can make your own decisions learning from my experiences.
