Got an offer for Senior Engineer ( vehicle testing ) YOE: 8.5 yrs Location: Detroit Current TC: 120K OFFER TC: 120K + 8% bonus + 5k sign-on bonus + OT The base salary is a very slightly increase, which still under negotiation. I’d like to see if anyone can share some salary info on senior engineer. What range i should look for. #auto #toyota #engineering
Better to work for oem
I agree, there are lots of restrictions on suppliers working with federal agencies. But just not fully satisfied with the offer
I'd say that's fair for the role and area. I did vehicle testing at GKN for a decade and never reached 120k base. TC when I left was maybe 130k. I'd push for a better bonus if you can. Senior at GKN was 11%, I think. I was at 20% as group manager.
The bonus is performance based as far as i know. So, not sure if that’s negotiable. But thanks for the sharing!
Yes. Usually the bonus is listed as the max qualification. My 20% is what I could earn. 50% my performance, 20% my office / location performance, 20% manufacturing / sales performance, 10% cash in the bank. Never got the full 20% because automotive industry is rough and either manufacturing or cash flow prevented us all from reaching 100% of our bonus. It was often 70-80% of 20%.
The offer is solid. 120 is close to the median for 8.5 years. OT is 1.5x so I’d take it.
That’s a feedback from Toyota employee! I’m wondering how much OT typically occurs in TTC since i don’t have too much in DENSO.
