I study EECS at Imperial College London. Its basically best uni in London/2nd~3rd best in Europe for science and eng. I want to work in the US tech industry/quant finance. London offices seem to have much lower TC but not much gap in COL. To get employed, should I apply to transfer to medium tier US schools like USC, UMich, UCSD, UIUC, Or should i graduate and seek for internal transfer/US masters degree? Thx
Which year are you currently in? For your undergrad degree
1st
Since you are in your first year Then, if higher TC and moving to USA are the only goals Transfer to a decent school >>> MS at a decent place > Transfer to a meh school >>>>>>>> Take up a job in UK and then move to USA via L1 Try for transfer by end of 2nd year or so. This will allow you time to intern for at least one summer in USA (I hope you intern at the end of your second year as well, in UK or USA or anywhere else to add to resume which will make your 3rd internship hunt easier. If this doesn't work out, go for an MS L1 isn't recommended because doesn't give you the mobility to move around to other companies unless you get lucky with H1B, which the company you move with will file for you. There are other posts describing this which you might wanna check, if you haven't yet
Controversial on Blind but get an MS. The L1 visa is...
Is?
