I’ve a offer from Netflix and received the receipt for the H-1B transfer. The team wants me to join on receipt notice, but given the recent blind threads where transfers are getting rejected, I’m highly skeptical. Should I take a risk and join on receipt or wait till the transfer goes through? YOE: 8 TC: 280K Have a Bachelors from India
Let me sum for you (all over again) : half the strangers will say No, the other half will say YES. None really care, since it is not their career, job, life. Some will tell you to ask your attorney. Other will tell you to look at Blind history. In short, what’s the point of asking a bunch of strangers?
Forget what the team wants, it's not any of them who'll have to leave the country should a denial get returned. Do what makes you feel comfortable
Why are you applying/transferring at all if that's your fear?
Why r u risking you status ? Don't do it. Tell them you will join only after approval.
Have you discussed the rejection scenario with them ? What backup are they offering ?
Why would transfer get rejected? What reason could anyone possibly have?
How much are they offering
In case the transfer is rejected, Netflix would trash you just like a used condom! immigration status >> TC
What’s will do if the petition gets rejected? Will they move you to Canada? Are you okay with moving if the transfer gets rejected?
Agreed. These immigration issues (relatively less imp: green card etc) are part of negotiation and discussion with hr before u join. If they dont agree and if u have no back up like h4 ead etc, you should request them to wait. Premium processing begins in feb next year
