Some have no transfer fee like Chase Slate. Assuming I pay it off in promotion period, wouldn't this be a great hack? Paying around 5-6% interest now.
How does it work? I don't understand. Don't think you can pay student loans with a credit card.
Some accounts give you "cash advance" options by giving you checks. They are usually eligible for the exact same terms as a normal CC rollover. That's how he is probably going to try and do it.
The catch is that if you don't pay it off in the promotional period you get charged full interest from day 1.
If chase slate offers the $0 fee for balance transfers, then yes this isn't a bad idea. Most other cards charge 3%. Do they give you checks to complete the balance transfer when you open the account?
Yep no fee whatsoever for chase slate for 15 months, but the limit is like 15k. I've taken advantage of it myself
Did they give you checks in the fist 60 days for balance transfers? Otherwise the student loan scheme might not work.
