What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Moving to nyc for personal reasons. I think some of the engineering roles at trading firms might be more fun than generic full stack. Has anyone made a similar transition? Currently 3 yoe, worried about entering without any domain experience.

Specialization on trading firm will always be more valuable than “Full Stack”. “Full Stack” these days is like say that you know MS Office
But I know MACROS!
“Specialization” means more than a little self-study. It’s fiercely competitive for such roles. There are PhD candidates with specialized knowledge — you won’t get in the door just because you can code and are really curious. If you’re used to the broad-based hiring of Google, FB, Amazon, Microsoft — you’ll be in for a surprise when there’s only 1 or 2 spots open for a specialized role and many qualified candidates. So sitting here and pondering “maybe I’ll be a quant analyst next!” is childish and akin to believing in fairy tales.
What stack?
Ember/rails
Apparently not relevant to quant at all...
