Transitioning from SWE to Security engineering

8 yoe in coding networking protocols and full stack. Reason for transition: want to create a niche for myself instead of generalist swe. Status: No certifications. No workex in cybersecurity per se but in developing network protocols. Good knowledge of networking. Current location: India Questions: 1. For those who have done similar transitions, how has it been? 2. Are interview calls as easy as those for swes? 3. I understand from previous posts that salaries are at par with swes. But is it more the norm or exception ? 4. Swe vs cyber security being recession proof ? Impact of AI? 5. Which is the first job I should target? Given that k have significant workex as swe. 6.
