Currently L3 with 2 yoe. Feel depressed everyday that I’m not promoted yet. TLs nitpick CL and then if I do something in less than ideal way go to manager and give feedback. Then managers 1:1 only becomes about how I need to improve XYZ things for promotion. Other L3 on my team who joined 4 months after me seems to have got promoted this time. I’m so dejected and down. I came into office everyday with a good attitude eager to learn but I guess all that is just bullshit. I’m starting on a new team soon and don’t even know if things will work out there.
The job market is really not that bad if you have a decent resume. Put in some applications and look to leave. 2 YOE is enough. Don’t let G blind you

Promotions have an implicit pecking order. If you join a new team you are likely in the middle / end of the line.
