Travelling Home before joining new firm
I'm on H1b and planning to change my employer. I got a job at Goldman Sachs. I have a plan to travel home. Which would be the best option ? 1. It is ok to travel while the h1b application is in progress but have employer verification letter from the old firm. 2. Travel after the H1b Transfer is approved (before the notice period) but have employer verification letter from the old firm. 3. Travel after joining the new firm so that I have salary slips with me along with H1b Transfer approval. Note: my old employer is listed on my US Visa Stamp.

I had done #1 last year. Premium processing was not available - travelled while transfer was in progress
Best option is #2. For #1, check with attorneys at GS. If you receive an RFE, then they may need additional information from you and it's better to be in US during such times.
