Hey guys can we all chill... The last decade you've spent in the backlog should've taught you that no Indian national is getting a green card...

Netflix sherules May 17, 2019

It’s a choice right? Why they are not going to Canada, knowing too many Indians already moved to US?

So, your GC application will get cancelled after years in the backlog. Then, you apply to the new immigration visa with max points (master’s in CS). You’re now priority number one over any other GC applications. Why are you complaining? No matter what they do people will always complain about short term inconveniences

There are more people in the backlog than there will be available visas so a very large number of them will be leaving the US. Assume the points will be used to stack rank and select the best, up to the quota. The rest go home. (While the per country cap would be removed the overall cap will remain)

Which quota? There’s no quota. And he said it himself, “will make sure high skilled workers get served first”. Something like going from 15% skilled worker of total GC applications up to 75 like canada etc. So that means even more GC applications for skilled workers will be made available.

I have mixed feelings about this, agreed that this will put educated folks at the top, but what about their parents? H1B is better in that case, many intend to return as salaries in India have started peaking.

eBay Yeah Bruh May 17, 2019

What about their parents? There's plenty already in line. And for every H1B ready to go home there's a 1000 waiting to get in.

Are you new to this? NOTHING immigration related will pass Congress. Both Democrats and Republicans want to introduce their dog shit in the bill along side reasonable immigration reform. Why? Because the dog shit would never pass on it’s own and frankly it’s bad enough to sink any bill.

None of this will pass. That being said, this is a million times better for skilled immigrants. Siblings of US citizens shouldn’t even be able to apply for a GC

Amazon ed3Gyy May 17, 2019

Siblings of US citizens have a track record of success in the US. I think you are making arbitrary rules for your own benefit. Family ties are strongly correlated with long term success whereas a lot of skilled immigrants fail to integrate and end up leaving.
