Trying to negotiate Google new grad offer, pt. 2

Made a virtually identical post last night, but Disney has upped their numbers since then-- so reposting. Currently deciding between two new grad offers: Disney (Seattle): 110k base, 133k stock*, 30k signing, 7% target bonus, 25% additional bonus** Google (Mountain View): 142k base, 100k stock (33/33/22/12), 15k signing, 15% target bonus (ie. standard new grad offer) I intend on taking the Google offer (better engineering and whatnot), but the new Disney offer is pretty close TC-wise to Google's because 1) the additional 25% bonus and 2) Seattle CoL < Mountain View CoL. So I was wondering if I could potentially use this offer to negotiate any aspect of Google's offer up. I'm specifically thinking of asking Google to increase the stock from 100k to 133k and the signing bonus from 15k to 30k. Is this viable? * was technically told 100k over 3 years, but extrapolated to 4 for comparison purposes ** this bonus is for tech employees at disney. it'll be paid out as additional RSUs. #google #disney #hulu

I will do Google because of the tech culture. Currently in Seattle. Not sure if I love it. If someone adjusted for my COL I might move to CA

This will be hard to negotiate because if you bring up the 25% additional bonus, Google will say that you will get yearly refreshers, and google refreshers for new grads is on avg ~50k/4years given in stock, which is still over double what disney's 25% bonus gives. I think best strategy here is to ask for higher stock grant and sign-on like you said, but just crunch the numbers so that you dont get disappointed if they dont budge

Yeah, I wasn't sure if the additional stock for Disney was their version of refreshers or not. I assumed not because no other offers I've seen have explicitly detailed refreshers, but I could be wrong. And yes, I'm not willing to walk away from Google. If I can just get higher numbers for stock/sign-on than my initial amounts, then I'll be happy.

There’s no harm in asking! Always ask

Don’t bother for new grad. Just get promoted quickly and that will surpass your current negotiation for additional peanuts

Hey there! Just curious - any insight into the Disney Seattle team interview process? Currently in the middle of it, just want to know what to expect :) Already had a phone call, and a virtual one on one with HM, just waiting for a team interview I think.

Do it. I think at best you may be able to get a higher signing bonus, but definitely do it
