Im turning down an amazing design lead position on a hot high visibility product for a startup (I know sounds pretty dumb but Im willing to take a risk). Will I get blacklisted by Google? Will this look favorably or negatively on me if one day I do decide to join Google?
Looks like you already made up your mind. Now just live with it. There is no point of ifs and buts. Anyway you can't control what Google will do with your application.
My question is about future potential (say startup fails in 2 yrs), will they not consider me since I turned them down.
TC or GT.... you know the drill
No, you won’t get blacklisted. They’ll probably just mark you as “declined offer” and reach out again in a year. Which startup? Sounds way more fun than going to Google.
For his sake, I hope the OP doesn’t say “wework”
I’ll share once I officially turn down
I believe your offer is valid up to one year
Give them your honest reason. It's something that Google cannot offer, so it sounds reasonable. If you haven't accepted Google's offer then there is no hard feelings for declining it.
You won't be blacklisted. You're fine. Do what feels right for you.
I know sb who did that and was banned from using Gmail and YouTube
Lol
I didn’t even get an offer when I interviewed and they still call me every 3 months asking if I want to interview again.
Are you a minority?
No
No of course not wtf

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Nope. I turned down an offer and they won’t leave me the f**k alone.
How so? Just keep asking for double their offer until they leave you alone.
