Is anyone working at Twitter (preferably on the ads team) as a data scientist or will be joining soon? I have an upcoming onsite and would love to ask you some questions about the expectations. I have been interviewing for ML engineering roles but this will be my first product data science interviews and I am not sure how to best prepare. Any help is welcome! #datascience #dataanalytics #swe #data #twitter #engineer #onsite
What’s your YOE? I heard that Twitter only recruits from some schools in California, is that true ?
Sorry just saw this. No that's not true I am interviewing in Canada though. MS in ML + 1 YOE. I applied several times to Twitter and was always rejected. I worked on my LinkedIn profile and ended up being contacted by a HM without even applying.
Hey @rocaboy1 what was your experience like interviewing for this role? Did you end up getting an offer?
Failed onsite and they didn't give me any feedback
Would you mind if I DMed you for some advice?

The interview is a lot of product stuff. I was asked almost no ML and very light DS stuff. They then surprised me on-site with “this position will never build models, are you ok with that” - wtf.
Thanks for answering! Yea I realize there won't be any model building, which is fine for me at the moment. I am just trying to break in and will be happy with this kind of role for now. How did you find the different rounds of the onsite?
They were all really straight forward. Product questions, some easy DS stuff and then leadership principals questions like amazons.
