Twitter travel policy

going be joining Twitter in about two weeks, but i now got curious about what the travel policy was like before the company allowed permanent remote. what were the airfare/hotel policies, stipend amount, approval process for work trips at twitter pre-pandemic?

There was pretty good travel policy B.C. Work trips would get approved often

Book through Concur (ugh), some automatic thresholds based on average fare/rate for the search results. Still only $75/day pretty sure - that used to matter less when you were eating breakfast and lunch in the office you were visiting anyway. How often was worked out with your individual manager, as long as it was reasonable and made sense to you both it was approved. Trips from remote -> office every six weeks wasn't uncommon I think that last part is the big unknown going forward - with a much larger chunk of the office remote, how often will they consider reasonable? and how worth it will individual trips (vs formally organizing a whole team coming in) be if we're less centralized

Coach under 9hr flight, premium economy above unless you're L8+ which gets you business class in the long haul case
