Duh? It’s a car crash and people can’t look away. Of course users are through the roof. However, if you think that means Twitter is on the upswing I have a bridge to sell you. 1. Twitter doesn’t make money from people using the site. That actually costs them money in a vacuum. It makes money from advertisers, and they’re still leaving in droves. 2. The new users are all just trolls and people coming to watch the world burn. From a business standpoint, their conversion rates will be atrocious and those ad impressions will be barely worth more than the bots Elon wouldn’t stop whining about. 3. Those people are literally there *because* it’s such a circus right now. On the off chance Twitter actually starts to get it together, they will vanish as quickly as they came.

Twitter has a metric page where every employee/contractor can look at the number. Elon is posting that number but he’s also posting DAU instead of mDAU. If he stops banning bots, DAU will certainly keep growing to an all time high. mDAU on the other hand.. need a twitter employee to tell us.
