Both are for Sr. SDE and I’m on H1-B visa #twitter #twitteroffer #thumbtack #thumbtackoffer #thumbtackcompensation Current TC: 275k Thumbtack TC: 300k Twitter TC: 365k Location: Bay Area Any insights into compensation also will be helpful. Thanks.
I would personally stay away from Twitter right now, unless you’re very comfortable with the instability that is coming. I guess there’s some upside potential if they forward vest some of your shares when it goes private 🤔
Thanks, yeah they mentioned the cliff is for 6 months and quarterly vesting after that. If and when the company goes private they said they will pay off allotted RSUs in the form of cash as per original vesting schedule.
Sorry you were not told by whoever you were speaking with at Twitter. The base pay and RSUs equivalent is only protected up to 1 year after close. After that, it's not guaranteed and depends on the new owner.
If you join twitter your grant is probably going to change to either cash, to private shares, or to nothing
They mentioned cash.
Yeah I thought so too.
Thumbtack has absolutely shit customer service. I hired a plumber on thumbtack who turned out to be a scammer, got my money back from my credit card company months before thumbtack even emailed me.
Ah! I see
Been using their house cleaning services for a while, no complains so far.
What's your yoe? Thumbtack doesn't seem like they would have very high growth. Nor is there any news on going public. Twitter might still benefit with some of the scale depending on what you need in your career
7+ years
Wish it was a more stable time, Twitter would have been a no brainer. With current situation it can go anywhere. If you have no dependants on visa, Twitter can atleast be interesting.
300 for senior seems really low. What’s the breakdown?
Thanks, DM’d you.
yup 300 for l6 seems low
Thanks, DM’d you as well
Acquisitions can be dangerous to new hires.
Thanks for your input
I guess 300k is salary plus sign-on. Right? The stock is not included because it is paper money. Thumbtack future is mixed .
They offer RSUs as they are pre IPO
Shocking you'd even consider Twitter (and that they are still hiring) given everything that's going on
Thanks, the only reason is that Twitter has always been a place I thought highly of. But given this situation I’m debating.
