YoE 8 Both offers are in NYC, and relocation is a separate cost that will be covered in both companies. Meta L5 226k Base 15% performance bonus 570k RSUs over 4 years vesting quarterly 25k Sign-on Bloomberg L5 223k Base 57k Performance bonus 280 TC I’m pretty sure I’m going with meta, though I’m curious if I can negotiate for more sign-on bonus, as I think it’s a solid offer already. Thanks! #meta #bloomberg #swe #offers #engineering #tech
My team's ex-Meta hires seem to feel like it's comparable. They prefer BB but none of them loathed Meta in comparison. I'd say it's a tough pick. Give the numbers id probably go Meta. That looks like a healthy amount of extra money.
Tough pick? What’s so great about Bloomberg? No layoffs and wlb?
@DeadMest$ yes, and that’s why I’m still considering them. Multiple people I talked to at Bloomberg have been there for 3-5+ years. Excellent job security imo, though it comes at the cost of a less than ideal tech stack at best.
Meta is hiring again?
Apparently lol let’s hope they’re keeping these hires too 😂
Meta has been hiring since Jan, for E6+ roles
How long did it take from recruiter call to offer for Meta? Congrats on the offer!
A little over a month! And thank you 😊
RSUs can be negotiated higher 650k ish. At one time Meta was giving 100k sign on, not sure now but 75k is still possible
Yea I was thinking at a bare minimum I could up the sign-on to 50k
Idk about rsus but I’ll include that in my negotiations
Low balled. 750k rsu at least. Happy to take at 900. Signon also low maybe your only counter is bloomberg
Meta is better offer for sure. Congrats👏
Accepted meta today! Final offer details: 226k Base 15% perf bonus 650k RSUs over 4 years vesting quarterly 40k sign-on
Nice! How did you negotiate the offer?
Told Bloomberg Meta’s offer. Then brought up Bloomberg’s counter to Meta. I didn’t give specific numbers related to what I was looking for at meta, and kept it vague on purpose. Rather, I asked how this comp gap can be addressed in the most flexibile way possible.
Rsus are very low. 1mil over 4 year is a norm nowadays. Atleast that is what I thought.
That’s for E6. E5 usually gets capped at 600-700k
For L5/IC3 that's not the case in any company
