I interviewed with Two Sigma a couple months back in their generalist SWE pipeline. I was told I performed very well on all the interviews including the 3 hour technical onsite but that there was no headcount available at the time so I had to wait. Now, my recruiter isn’t responding to my emails whereas previously they were very communicative. I’m not in a huge rush to find a new role but was hoping to make this work as I’ve heard a lot of good things about Two Sigma from friends in the industry. I completely understand if no managers are interested in my profile (despite my resume being pretty strong) at the moment, just wish I knew where I stood and whether my past interview performance will help should I apply again in the future when the job market recovers. I wanted to ask blind/Two Sigma employees for some advice here. Anything I can do on my end? Or is this a lost cause? #twosigma #swe
Lost cause, I passed onsite as well 8 months ago. I’m still “team matching” according to my recruiter. But my friend who works at two sigma says there is no head count. There’s been no head count for a year now
That’s what I assumed. Has your recruiter been providing periodic updates?
No she hasn’t, she’s a prick
Same boat - they’re not hiring anytime soon just like most big tech companies. You basically need to wait until someone inside resign. But bonus in finance firms are paid at year end. So don’t expect headcount until 2024
They’re def being lame af. Literally ghosting internally and externally, perpetual no headcount bs with no clear visibility reason. Even interns did not get return offers. Only top performing interns “may” get an offer later this year. Basically $$$ profit per engineer isnt justified
Not true
Same boat. having a hard time finding someone in that space that does seem to hire; pointers welcome...

What was the interview process? Was it super math heavy?
No math, all standard questions.
