Currently at meta in NYC. I joined in October as E4 Swe. I'm worried about being promoted in time before hitting the red zone (33 months). Once I hit 2 year mark and if I'm not confident of being promoted, should I look for a job at 2sig or bb? I heard they're in nyc, have good work life balance, and good enough pay for me.
Bb doesn’t pay much. Try TS.
Ok
Why not? Both great companies, more stable than meta as well if that is what you are looking for
Yes I just want a good, stable life
Stress/WLB will definitely be higher at 2sig vs bbg
Tc?
330k without stock appreciation
Yoe?
What is red zone?
Promoted or fired
come to Bloomberg only if you want to coast and retire
What's the red zone? I didn't think meta was up or out?
Have to be promoted to senior in 33 months or you're out
Oh e4 is not terminal, how about e5?
Get an offer at either first before worrying about it.
I won't be applying for another 2 years. But not sure how hard it will be to break into them coming from meta.
it wont be hard
Two sigma will be more grind, more cutting edge and more cash for you Bloomberg will be chill af life style. Never have to worry about lay offs (we have never had engineering lay offs) and it’s almost impossible to get fired here. Pay stagnates at a senior level but undergrad I’m happy with almost 200k 1 YOE for myself
Is two sigma hiring again?

Why is it so G*damn difficult to move money out of India
Bbg is behind the times in tech
That's ok with me
Definitely Bloomberg will keep going down. Most financials (barring quant or front office jobs) don’t do well long term. TS too is not the place it used to be .
