Roblox vs Carta
First of all Thanks to this wonderful community and numerous members I Dm'ed with my questions. I'm in the offer phase (no final number yet, will edit this with numbers as soon as I have them) for both Carta and Roblox. From the information that I was able to collect from Levels.fyi, Blind and Recruiters the base diff between Roblox and Carta will be around 70k/year and the Stock diff will be around 110k/year (Roblox > Carta). Both roles have similar scope and growth opportunities for the next 4 years. From the overall TC growth perspective, what do you guys think will have more upside? Carta is projecting min. 5x stock price growth over the next 4 years, to match this Roblox will have to grow 3x in the same timeframe. PS: I know it is hard to tell for sure how both companies will do in future but just trying to get a sense from you guys on what you think and why? Thanks! Update: Got final numbers Roblox : 610K TC (305K base, 305K RSUs) Carta : 325K TC (210K base, 115K equity) Affirm : 510K TC FB : E5 numbers are around 460K, need another interview for E6 All above numbers except FB are for EM1. Will most likely be going with Roblox because of culture, WLB, career growth and TC YoE: 9 TC: 380k @Roblox @Carta
Why does roblox have such a high valuation?
I think Carta would be a way better company to work for in terms of resume and career growth. I'd try to get the TC to match Roblox and move to Carta.
Roblox is clearly overvalued
I believe roblox has more growth ahead. With fb entering it will infuse more interest and capital into this space. Even if roblox emerged as #2 it is still not a bad place to be.
Because of growth potential?
I actually like Roblox.
Roblox is clearly giving you a better offer as far as the dollar amounts are concerned. As for growth, no one knows what the future holds. I’d pick Roblox.
Never consider the 5x projection as a sure thing. Use current valuation
From my personal experience, Carta’s TC can be no where close to Roblox.
