I started my career at US Bank as a software engineer, have been there for 4 years now. Thought it was time to move so started interviewing and got an offer at Accenture in their Cloud Engineering division. US Bank countered the offer. Accenture Base: $120,000 Sign On: $10,000 Bonus: 4-6% Ability to purchase stock at a discount US Bank Base: $125,000 Bonus: 15% Long Term Bonus: $2k year 1, 4k year 2, 8k year 3 The way I see it pay is essentially the same, I’m been doing web development at US Bank for a few years now and I feel like it’s probably time to branch out. Accenture will give me the opportunity to break into cloud and learn a lot. My biggest hesitation is moving from a product focused company to a service based one, being on the bench scares me, especially with a potential recession next year. LIFO Do I take the safe pick and keep doing what I’m doing at US Bank for more money than before, or switch to Accenture and learn a bunch but take a risk? Thoughts?
Don't go to a witch compatriot. You never know what kind of shit project you get drafted in. Maybe you'd get some cloud knowledge, there would be a very high chance that that would be very basic and high level and not indepth enough to get you proper leverage. Build out your CV and move to another product focused company. Given the current market just hold out in your current position, practice LC and system design so that you can move when the market opens up.
Saying you’re thinking of leaving probably puts you for first in line for layoffs at US Bank if you stay.
You are young.. So go to service based company like Accenture.. The opportunities are abundant and you can grow quicker and faster. Also, you can move to different teams even can move geographically.. All the best..
Go to US Bank
Any reason why?
