I am really lucky to land both linkedin and google swe intern offer for next summer. LinkedIn: Sunnyvale, 50/hr, probably backend (Not sure about the team), 8k relocation, 12 weeks Google: New York, 55/hr, full stack project (Google Workspace (Rooms team which are in charge of the hardware for the meeting rooms - and they program software for those hardwares), 10k relocation, 14 weeks I heard some rumors about LinkedIn Culture going downhills thus I am a bit worried. International student. Care about return offer + what I learnt during the internship. Besides, I am unsure about Google Return policy, will you be probably return to the same team? You need to ask your recruiter about conversion possibilities. G should not be able to sponsor GC for a few years, but not sure how long. Culture wise, both places are woke, so practice your pronouns.

I was a former intern at Linkedin, the return offer rate wasn't high last time. Around 60%. But at Linkedin at least you will get to know if you have return offer or not by November. I heard in Google return offer you would have to wait way longer for team match if you get converted (one of my seniors waited till September the next year after your internship). Past Google interns would have better idea about the return offer rate. Personally I liked my time at LI. Again take my opinion with a pinch of salt. Long timers at LI know better.
If the projects were equal, I'd say go to Google. But the Google project sounds extremely boring (meeting room software)

Theres too much to go into. Some examples : its pretty cutthroat, the tech stack is miserable, they place ZERO value on testing. Just ship and make a cool presentation for management for your promotion packet. So this makes the tech stack miserable to work with and full of bugs. Everyone on my team was cut throat as fuck and straight from Bangalore so I couldn't make any friends because everyone would throw you under the bus in a heartbeat. Instead of management giving teams well defined responsibilities you could steal other teams projects which encourages everyone to work way harder so people don't steal their projects which leads to really long hours. this may be my department and team but there's a ton of posts in the internal LinkedIn blind where people are complaining that it sucks so I don't think mine was a unique experience.
