Why does leetcode get so much hate?
It seems the first interview for Uber 5a Software engineer position is a ‘Business Phone Screen’. The prep guide provided says it’s for you to talk about skills and experience - has anyone had one of these before? Most interview experiences I could find online say the initial is a leetcode style interview. But the description makes it sound like this might be different. Any info and thoughts welcome! #Uber #Facebook #Google #Amazon #tech
It’s not about salary. It’s about 2 things 1.) do you understand the job you are applying for. If not, they provide insight 2.) Speak past experiences that we then gauge around 5 key areas to determine if you are a good fit for role, culture, growth, etc. I do lots of these interviews.
How do I know, I work for Uber. If you’d like me to create a profile and comment with my Uber tag. I will for proof.
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. Could you comment on it in light of what my recruiter said: He said it would be a Business Phone Screen and involve ‘a white board, a problem where I’m expected to verify requirements and come up with working code which covered edge cases too’. Also he said after this would be the onsite.
OP I have a similar business phone screen coming up soon. Can you please share your experience
This is nothing but a leetcode style questions interview
I had an Business phone screen coming up and my recruiter it would definately be not coding. For coding there will be onsite coding interviews. It will cover your past experience and "Tell me about yourself", projects worked on.
It’s a tell me about yourself interview. They’ll go over the basics of the job and salary range most likely and see if it’s a good fit and if you want to move forward.
Hmm I already had an initial call with the recruiter where we discussed this. He was a bit confused about the next step though and said it would be a Business Phone Screen and involve ‘a white board, a problem where I’m expected to verify requirements and come up with working code which covered edge cases too’. Also he said after this would be the onsite. Any thoughts?
Got it. Thought you were referring to the initial call with the recruiter. If you’ve already done that, the second interview is usually with your potential manager.
