What % do you tip drivers? It feels a little crazy to tip 20% on a $100 bill when they’re driving for 10 minutes.
I do pickup. Its quicker and im not paying fees + tip. Thats how your $40 order turns into $90. No reason for that
My policy is to do $7 for all delivery, unless it’s a crazy long drive (which it never has been) or a long wait for the driver (then I’ll increase bc that’s valuable time for them). I don’t believe in tipping % unless I’m at a restaurant. I way over tip if it’s incredible service (sometimes more than 100%) but also way under tip if it’s bad service.
tldr; if they’ve earned it, they deserve it. If they didn’t, they don’t get it.
15$+ service should cover it, no need to tip on top of it.
$2 for delivery or rides, $5 for shopping groceries.
vacation homes don't afford themselves
I'm jobless, $0 from me until I get a job
Today I asked my delivery guy how much he was paid. Then I realized I’ve been tipping him more than how much Uber pays him.
In my area UberEat pays $2 one delivery. It’s easy to tip more than Uber payments.
Shopping groceries deserve tips, driving less than 10min doesn't.
Uber pay fucking $2 for one delivery, like 6 miles and 20 minutes of driving. People often think it’s “just 10 minutes of driving”, assuming all Uber drivers live at the restaurant and ready for picking up their orders. No they don’t. I hope those poor souls who are willing to do the zero tip deliveries can find a better job, not wasting time and gas serving cheapskate people.
The algorithm is supposed to optimize and adjust. Also if you don't pay a premium they will batch your order and pretty much guarantee you get luke warm food.
