Uber India vs start-up/Career Choice

Posting on behalf of Friend. Please dont just vote, share your reasons/ arguments. I have 2 yrs work-ex as data engineer in series D startups. Built data platforms from ground up mostly for batch and micro-batch processing. tech stack- spark, kafka, s3, glue, athena, superset, flink, airflow. Offers(Loc. India) - 1. Startup (series B, 5 Million Daily Active Users) - backend - SDE2 (already working here for 1 month. Now uber came with the offer after 3 months of interviews.) Tech-Stack - typescript, nestjs, postgres, cassandra, kafka, redis. Build core services. Comp - 36 + 5.5 variable + 30L esops - standard vesting*. 2. Uber - data engineer 2 - adtech team. Tech-stack - airflow, spark. Comp - 36 + 5.5 variable + 32L RSU (standard vesting*) + 1.5L perks. All comps in INR. *Standard vesting - 25% at end of 1st year, (75/36)% monthly afterwards. NB. Uber is public hence RSU is realisable money. Very keen on trying backend but there is uber and more money on the other side. Does not want to do data engineering for a long time. Not hugely concerned about job stability. Reasonings will be very helpful. #engineering #software #uber #swe #sde #career #offer #dataengineer #dataengineerinterview #startupvsmnc #ubersalary #tech #compensation #wlb #startup

ESOPs = 10x+ potential , Uber RSU < 2X . Go for Uber if you want to make good money in the foreseeable future ! Go for khatabook of you want to get substantially rich definitely with some element if risk!
