Uber L4 Seattle Offer
Wanted to get thoughts on my offer w/ Uber. Base: 165k Equity: 345k/4 -> 35/30/20/15 Sign-on: 25k The role is backend SDE with one of the Riders teams, any info on the org would be much appreciated! YOE: 5, TC: 280k

Uber stock distribution is front-loaded?? Wtf?
isn’t this a lateral move for you? you’d only be making more money if you can get promo within the first two years with how the stock is distributed.
Career wise yes, it's lateral. The recruiter mentioned that there are refreshers to help keep the income consistent with the later years, but no details on how much. I would consider it an upgrade in terms of comp due to Amazon's cliff, which I am very likely to experience next year if I stay.
Hey, did you check with the recruiter to see if you have yearly refresher + perf bonus separate to what they promise to give to maintain TC constant? I have a similar offer to yours

If OPs Uber offer gave significantly more, like 350+ then I’d consider it but OPs first year Uber TC seems to be 206 given the numbers vs 280 right now at Amazon. I realize they’re coming up on a cliff but still. Seems like a weak offer from Uber Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I would say take the offer. Uber is better to work at and even if you’re promoted in 2 years the next opportunity will get you there for sure
Can you please put Uber TC in description? Your current TC seems higher than Uber first year no? 165 + 35 + 25/4 = 206? Seems you’re making more right now, so not sure why you’d move tbh. Especially for same title.
