Uber interview tips

I got an interview call from Uber for the Software Engineer I position. I applied from LinkedIn. But I am not prepared at all for the interview. I didn't even think my resume would pass the screening phase. I just applied and forgot. Was really surprised to get an email from Uber for an interview yesterday (it could even be a mistake from their end 😀). I have terrible communication skills and low confidence. The interview is on March 9. I know I am not getting the job. Now how can I at least not embarrass myself in front of the interviewer? I would appreciate any tips. #swe #uber

Get on LeetCode and start grinding away. If you’re not ready for the interview now and it’s in a week, you’re not going to do well. Uber has a high bar.

Thank you. I am decent at leetcode problems. But I am just not confident enough to communicate well with the interviewer.

Based your post, looks like you are not as bad as you're saying. Don't underestimate yourself. Try your best in the remaining days. Focus on Leetcode problem solving. In the worst case, you can request to reschedule the interview. Good luck 👍

As an interviewee gather data points on how you behave during an interview. For example, how you’d get nervous if the question is too hard. Take your time and analyze how you would cope up with stress in that situation. I believe people who interview more or tackling challenging problems have such data feedback already and hence face tough challenges. May not feel very relevant, but abs truth.

You’re not expected to change the interviewer’s entire belief system with your incredible charisma in a SWE1 interview. Just answer the Leetcode questions clearly and correctly, and you should be okay. Good luck!
