I had my Uber on-site the other day. 2 coding, 1 system design, 1 behavioral. For the system design, we spent the entire time talking about a system I’ve designed in the past. The recruiter called me today asking to schedule a 30 minute call to design a new system. They said they forgot to do that in the original call, and that it’s a mandatory step. What do you think, is this good news, no news or bad news? Base 145 Bonus 20 to 30 (depends on rating) #uber #interview #onsite
You were probably just missing that box checked. Now you know what to focus on, ace that part and get an awesome offer, good luck!
That’s what I’m hoping! Thank you for the encouragement!
Hey what was in the system design? I have this week.
It was a “previous” design. Basically I just described the design of a project I did in the past. The next call will be the “new” design where they give me a task to design.
Cool thanks..all the best
The new system design is actually a mandatory step of the interview
Hi OP 👋 Did they ask you to run the code during virtual onsite?
They did. But no automated test suite. I had to set up the input and tests as well.
Thanks!
@op did you get the offer ?
Did u get the offer?
How were the coding interviews?
One was a graph question. Converting from 1 currency to another. I got a working solution but I didn’t feel great about it. The other was a tree question that I felt really good about. Had so much time to spare that we ended the call a bit early.
