DEI jobs are probably the biggest scams of our generation. Normal people don't need you to tell them how to define their moral and ethical values, and people without moral or ethical values arnt gonna listen anyways. They should fire all DEI roles and just spent the money on not laying people off. You gonna do some good Uber? Pay the divers more. Most them are marginalized groups so put your money where your mouth is
Warby laid off black workers from stores and then donated money to black charities for DEI when I was there. Also paid Walmart wages.
But that would require corporations to actually work on the right thing instead of just working to appear to do the right thing
One thing I never get, on one hand they want diversity and inclusion and on the same note they prevent people to think in different ways by making people follow a fixed mindset propagated by so called DEI. Be against discrimination but don't force fit a doctrine. Celebrate merit and pay per performance. All the laid back DEI mentality has fostered low impact high talk culture and exploitation of the hard working, sincere folks.
Their real goal is to create chaos and enmity and put themselves in charge. Whatever they don't control, they keep calling "racist" until they do control it. They impose a doctrine but they don't follow that doctrine, because the doctrine isn't the goal. Diversity isn't the goal. Inclusion isn't the goal. The goal is to put themselves in control, and to have you obey. That's all.
Exactly! . "Reward and nurture COMPETENCE irrespective of race , gender or sexual orientation"
Idk what the talk was about but tbh I hate the term Karen
Karen is such a fantastic term to call entitled white women.
Hmm agree to disagree. Punish bad actors but don’t encourage race or gender motivated name calling
Wow. It’s like she forgot that rule #1 of DEI is to shit on white people.
"The events were billed as “diving into the spectrum of the American white woman’s experience”" Don't speak too soon.
Well, I think that the fact that they literally fired the head of DEI because she was trying to advocate for someone who wasn’t brown reinforces rule number one.
Microsoft next
There is nothing ulterior about it.
"A second questioned why the term ‘Karen’ shouldn’t be used: “I think when people are called Karens it’s implied that this is someone that has little empathy to others or is bothered by minorities others that don’t look like them. Like why can’t bad behavior not be called out?” Who are these people who think name calling is correct? There must be appropriate channels to call out bad behavior.
It will come down finally to say bad choices and bad behavior should not be blamed or punished including pay and position. You see where this is going, practically get to pay equity without consequence of choices made or outcomes
These are the same people that say black people can't be racist. DEI is about advocating only for dark skinned people. She broke that rule and got fired
Using Karen same bad as using N-word. Convince me otherwise
If you can't say one of the words, it's probably worse.
@Nvidia: you censored one word but not the other, so you are already convinced.

Another day, another DEI officer fired over some employees being furious about the existence of lighter skin people. And yet, nothing of value was lost.
Everytime DEI is mentioned, a lot of people think about color...says a lot about our internal biases. DEI also covers gender, sex, disability, etc.
That's not what happened and that's not why she was asked to step down. She was asked to step down because of the way she handled the criticism, not the criticism itself.
